The Special Olympics, founded by Eunice Kennedy Shriver, sister of John Fitzgerald Kennedy, is the largest sporting event for athletes with intellectual disabilities, promoting inclusion, acceptance, and empowerment through sport.
Titled “The Strength of Kindness,” the Opening Ceremony in Turin officially launched the 2025 Special Olympics World Winter Games with an evening of emotion, poetry, and entertainment.
